In order to encourage research in our university, develop talents in all aspects of development, improve innovation and consciousness of Chinese and foreign students, expand international perspective of the development of foreign graduate students, enhance communication and interaction between Chinese and overseas students. The Engineering Forum I of the Fifth Sino-foreign Postgraduate Forum of Jiangsu University was held on 8th November, 2015 at 2:00 to 5:30 pm in the Conference Center. The event was sponsored by the Department of Science and Engineering of Jiangsu University, the Overseas Education College and graduate School.The conference was hosted by the school of chemical engineering, and co- organized by the school of Food and Biological Engineering, the school of Material Science and the school of Environmental Safety. The forum collected a total of ninety-three Academic Posters and presented in the first report hall of conference center. The forum recorded about two hundred Chinese and overseas graduate students participants. There were a lot of academic activities including academic exchange programs and poster voting. The attracted a lot of dignitaries and also present were Professor Zhu Chunyin of the school of chemical engineering, Professor Tang Hua of the school of materials, Professor Zhou Xiaohong of the school of environmental safety, and Dr. Zhang Di of the school of Food and Biological Engineering who served as panel of judges. Finally, after fierce competition between Urmila and Hu Weiwei ofthe school of food and biological engineering both were awarded awarded 1st and 2nd respectively. The school of Food and Biological Engineering selected the best five posters of the school belonging to Shi Tong, Chen Meng, Hong Chen, Cheng Ke and Oladejo Ayobami.O. It was observed that both Chinese and foreign postgraduate students were all excited. There was a lot of academic excises in terms of knowledge acquisition and learning. Very good academic presentations were made by students and panel of judges listed keenly and made fair judgments. The judges also made a thorough review of the academic papers presented to them.
Chinese and foreign graduate students carefully read the academic posters presented in the forum and voted for those they thought to be the best posters. The voting process offered a good platform for both Chinese and foreign students to interact and exchange ideas.
The forum offered participants especially the Chinese students the opportunity to improve their English language proficiency and listening skills.. This is particularly so because all students presented the findings of their research results in English.
The successful hosting of the forum of Chinese and foreign graduate students' provides a starting point for graduate students, broadens the academic perspective, stimulates the enthusiasm of scientific research, and creates a positive, healthy academic atmosphere for the entire student body.
All the students who participated in the just ended fifth Sino-foreign Postgraduate Forum of Jiangsu Universityattested to the fact that the conference was full of academic exercise, fun, and mutual learning in the field of scientific research.
