To establish a good academic exchange between Chinese and foreign postgraduate students, Jiangsu University successfully held the Seventh Sino-foreign Postgraduate Academic Forum from Nov 15 to Dec 25, 2017 under the theme: ‘’Innovation and Sustainability of Population, Food, Energy, Environment, Bio-informatics and International Education’’; and subdivided into sub-forums, each one with their own subthemes. Activities of the forum were comprised of research oral presentations, research poster presentations, thematic reports, culture exchange and some other activities.

The School of Food and Biological Engineering together with the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, and School of Environment and Safety Engineering, were the organizers of the sub-forum ‘’Engineering I’’ with the subtheme ‘’ Green Materials, Healthy Food and Environmental Friendly Chemical Engineering‘’ on Nov 22, 2017 in the Conference Center of Jiangsu University. At the beginning of this sub-forum, the hosts introduced the special guests, including Dr. Hongyin Zhang from the School of Food and Biological Engineering which was also part of the judges for the oral presentations. The activity was divided into two parts: oral presentation and voting or the best posters. Students in our school who participated in poster presentation were Emmanuel Kwaw and Kwabena Agyeman from Ghana; Xuechao Xu, Caiping Jiang, Xiaodong Zhai, Yi Xu, and Miaomiao Yang from China; in oral presentation was Md Mehedi Hassan from Bangladesh and Ricardo Antonio Wu Chen from Panama, the last one won an award for best oral presentations. This was a demonstration of the great achievements of our school in research and internationalization.

The closing ceremony of the Seventh Sino-Foreign Postgraduate Academic Forum of Jiangsu University was held on Dec 22, 2017 in the Academic Auditorium. This forum was a very important event in Jiangsu University that even attracted participants from other universities such as Yangzhou University and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. It provided a platform for postgraduate students to broaden their academic viewpoint, learn about the latest development in different research areas and make connections with people. Furthermore, it enhanced excellent relationship between Chinese and international students in academic and cultural exchange aspects.
