From November 13 – 14th, eight experts in molecular spectroscopy, including Professor Siesler of University of Duisburg-Essen and Dr. Hansen of NIR Application Consulting Co., Ltd. as well as CEO of Hanon, Zhang Zhenfang, were invited to hold the two-days International on-line Near Infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy Application Technology Exchange Conference in our university. Professor Chen Bin of the School of Food and Biological Engineering hosted the conference and introduced the experts. Some faculty members and Foreign–Sino students of the faculty attended the conference.
On the first day of the conference, Professor Siesler introduced the application of Raman spectroscopy. In addition, valuable opinions were advanced for the benefit of young researchers by experts such as Dr. Hansen, Zhang Zhen fang, Li Sheng from Metuoqi and Wang Cheng from Beijing Agricultural Information Technology Research Center. Key amongst the talks were how young researchers can quickly integrate into the corporate culture of multinational companies, and how to understand the characteristics of corporate culture and then forge ahead with determination in their work. Based on these foundations, the characteristic transformation of curiosity, interest, inspiration and achievement in scientific research work can be realized.
On the second day of the conference, Professor Siesler presented the application of Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technology. Dr. Hansen introduced the statistics and errors of the production & measuring instruments, industry quality control and quality assurance while Xiong Zhixin, a Professor at the Nanjing Forestry University introduced the evaluation of the molecular interaction effect of NIR spectroscopy application system and the development of the rapid detection platform for pulp materials. Professor Du Yiping from East China University of Science presented the establishment of chemical reaction process analysis model of micro-NIR spectrometer. Luo Suqin of Guangzhan Intelligent Technology Company highlighted on the application of near-infrared on-line monitoring technology in the pharmaceutical industry. On-line near-infrared spectroscopy is being applied in many fields at an amazing speed, which provides a wide application scope for scientific research, teaching and production process control.
Teachers and students in our faculty have conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with various experts about near infrared spectroscopy analysis technology during this conference. Through this academic exercise, we have gained deeper understanding of the application of on-line NIR spectroscopy technology and benefited greatly.
